On Body Image

Truth or Fiction?

This past week, my office enrolled in - and began - an exercise competition against sixty-two other teams in the company. The participants of the winning team will all receive ipads, and as of this past Friday (five days into the festivities) we ranked seventh. The rules work like this: you can log up to sixty-minutes worth of exercise per day, seven days per week, and the competition will run through mid-November. Your log - and those of your teammates - is visible to the participant public, along with the status of the team overall (last week, we ranked fifteeth) via a group-maintained website, and - for those who are so inspired - you can even upload exercise photos.  And so, seven days into the competition, I waver between taming my competitive inner-demon (seven days and counting) and rising above the six-hundred-dollar-prize to encourage my teammates (and myself) to exercise for a healthier future, improved body image,  and kinship amongst strangers.  Enjoy!

  1. Whatever works! That's why the prize is an ipad! Good luck.
