As summer comes to its usual melancholic close, many of us ponder workable calendar dates around annual pumpkin patch road trips to ensure we don't miss the changing-of-the-leaves, as we did (the) last (few) year(s) when hand-me-down pickings from more ambitious friends, colleagues, and classmates inspired false promises that next year would be different.
