You don't (necessarily) get to choose who you fall in love with, so when you find the real deal (and snatch it up!), there will inevitably arise multiple decision points in your relationship that need to be wholeheartedly addressed. East coast or west? (Both!) Hanukah or Christmas? (Both!) Indie Rock or 80s Love Song? (Er...) And it's the navigation of these questions that makes the journey adventurous, the decisions worthwhile, and the partnership stronger than before you both mutually decided that, in fact, her duvet cover matches the bedroom decor best.
