On Crowded Streets
Unfriendly Neighbors.
Yesterday, I went right instead of left and accidentally drove my car into a major Denver park where roads are off limits to everyone but bikers, runners, walkers, and dogs. As I circled the pavement with my blinkers on at five mph, pedestrians waved their arms in rage, flicked me off, shouted unkind accusations, and questioned my good-conscience. For the first few minutes I was able to ignore them, recognizing my mistake as innocent and honest, and then their resentment got the better of me. Fighting back tears with sweaty, trembling hands, I searched for (and eventually found) the exit ramp to acceptance. Enjoy!
