Missed Connections?
As the trials and tribulations of facebook torture the majority of us through endless hours of distraction at work and beyond, and - as a result - we debate on a too frequent daily basis whether to defriend the masses or quit cold turkey, we keep coming back for more. The opportunity for missed connections, support (in the form of "likes") from familiar faces, and - in my case - the generous willingness and interest of long, lost elementary school classmates and freshman year roommates to visit (and hopefully re-visit) my blog is too much to give up. The pangs of pride and interconnectedness felt from a fractured comment combined with a glimpse into the personal moments of (hundreds of) other people's lives (relocations, new families and even divorce) is enough to make it worthwhile...most of the time.
